Crop a dile Post it Notes

 

Hi, my video is still loading but I thought I would go ahead and show you the picture and when the video is loaded I'll come back here and update.

My video is going to show you how to make this darling project without the Bind it All.  All you need is a Crop a dile and the owires (I use the 3/4" size and you can find them in most craft store and they're very affordable.)

Google Reader & Washing Machine

Before I start my pity party ......I'll tell you the good news first.  I loaded a new video today and it's a video of my May Card Class and it's posted on my Stampin' Academy.  Click hereif you'd like to watch it.  Or click hereif you'd like to purchase the kit or read the details for my May Card Class.

I filmed a couple videos today and they are edited  & almost ready to go. I just need to load them on You Tube.  As soon as I get at least one loaded I'll post my project tomorrow (Wednesday).

Now to the not so fun stuff......Google Reader can go first.  Updates are not working :)  Can I just say I'd like to fall to the floor & cry (that would be a funny video!!)  I spent maybe three hours trying to figure out what happened.  All I can tell you is the updates stopped on April 2nd.  But, the good news is....if you add my website to your Google Reader now, it will update you from this point forward.  If you don't know what Google Reader is and you want me to explain it to you please feel free to call or email me (angie@chicstand.com).  If you use Feedburner, you don't need Google Reader....so if you're happy with Feedburner don't change anything!  If you would like to add Google Reader, there is a little button on the left side of this blog & when you click on it you'll have a choice of how you want to subscribe (click on google reader when you get there). 

When it rains it pours...my washing machine is still not working.....yes, it's been over a week.  I'll stop there because you know what that means for a family of four.  Can I just say "what was I thinking loading the bathtub and washing a load by hand".

  Hi, today I'm sharing with you another Post it Note Holder....and I have two more planned for later this week.  It's that time of year for end of the teacher gifts and...... Mother's Day is right around the corner!

I made this Post it Note Holder for my friend Connie and it's her birthday today (the 28th).  Happy Birthday Connie...I still miss you!! 

Here's a picture of the front cover.

I really like this size of Post it Notes because if you really need to write a note, you can.  I used the Friends 24-7 Stamp set with Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip & Old Olive ink (I stamped the image in Baja Breeze and then I took the Chocolate & Olive Marker and colored it). The designer paper is Parisian Breeze (love it!!).  The Whisper White and the Chocolate were both cut with the Circle Scissor Plus.  And, the Baja Breeze Scallop was punched with the Big Shot and Scallop Circle #2.  I sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa and pierced the scallops with my Chic Stand.

Thank you all for watching my videos and for participating!! I saw a lot of new names and that's very exciting!  I have several contests coming up so make sure you check back often. I gave 48 hours to enter this one but in the future I will change it up.

I was ask yesterday if I ever switched the Post it Note Holder around and put the crimped edge at the top.  The answer is yes & I looked for my sample...but I couldn't find it.......it may be in my old office :)  My picture today is one that I made last year (re-made).

Another question was did I use a full pad of post it notes. The answer is no, if you buy a normal pad of post it notes, you will use a third of it.  But, if you buy them from the Dollar Tree or Deals you can use 1/2 of the pad.  I've also included a picture of that...but I usually have it a little thicker.

June Card Class

 Hi, my card today is the format we'll use for my June Card Class or Kit.  (I'm trying to do a better job of planning ahead.)  I've already posted the details on my Stampin' Up! website and this weekend I'll post more details on my Chic n Scratch Shack. 

I used the Doodle This stamp set with Black Stazon ink and I stamped it on Shimmery White cardstock.  I colored the image with the Aqua Painter with Celery, Barely Banana & Lavender Lace ink.

The "happy birthday" greeting can be found in the Family Phrases stamp set.  The Designer paper is Tea Party, the ribbon is Vanilla Grosgrain.

Tea Party Post it Notes

 Hi, thanks for joining me!

Today's project is a post it note holder.  It's one that I've made for years and it 

was one of the first items I sold on my Chic n Scratch Shack a few years ago (that was way back when I was selling my hand made items).

 I was going through my left over designer paper and saw that I had some paper that I had not used.  So, that got me to thinking........I've been trying to make sure I show you all how to get the most out of what you buy and the Tea Party Designer Paper is the perfect example.  I've shown you the Top Note Bag, two cards in my May Card Class/Kit and now the Post it Note Holder.  I hope that helps you when you're deciding what paper to purchase :)

Birthday cards

 

 

Hi,

Today's pictures are birthday goodies I received from friends, way back in March.  I love all three and ladies I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to posting them! 

Gigi sent me the card on the top...the Pun Fun stamp set will always be one of my favorites and I love birds. (I really hope the new catalog has some stamp sets similiar to Pun Fun, I love coloring!)

Darlene sent the next card & she knows I was so crazy for the Crazy for Cupcake stamp set that I centered a class around it last fall.

Last but certainly not least....the darling Basket & Blooms Felt Bag is from Maria. I love it and I can't wait to make one too! I'm still shocked that we can use felt, fabric & everything under the sun with the Big Shot :)

p.s.  Life keeps throwing me curve balls!! I believe what doesn't kill us makes us stronger...but can I just say... I need a break?   I'll share a few details.....our washing machine broke last night and it's less than 2 years old....no warranty (after the first year) and of course my hubby is out of town (he's always out of town when we have emergencies) and I was behind on laundry. (trust me..... you don't want to know the rest of the details!)

Thanks for all your help regarding the color of my blog side bars!!   I'm still in shock that most people see it as green.  My laptop shows it light blue (a pretty blue).  It may be Internet explore ...I'm not sure :)  Maybe that's why some people had trouble viewing my blog when it was black....all the monitors are different.

One more note on my Card Class/Card kit.  Everything is included that you need to make the cards....except the stamped images and adhesive.  And a PDF file will be email with a photo & instructions.

I'm in the process of making some changes....I like to call it Spring Cleaning.  The list of changes includes, Customer Appreciation, Stamp Club, My Blog, My photo software.....re arrange my office (the list will scare you). I had to move my office around this weekend...I felt that the setup was making me less creative...trust me...the flow wasn't working ...it doesn't look as pretty now...but it's functional :)

Card Class Details

Hi,  I've received several emails regarding my card class & the answer is Yes ..... I'm showing all the cards for my kits.

Here's the cards...remember all six cards are the same format.  But a different stamp can be used with them.  At my Card Class (May 15th)  I plan on having all the stamps out that will fit in the circle and let everyone pick what they'd like.

Hi,  I'm still working on getting my feed subscriptions back to where they were. I know..... feed subscriptions...that's not a stamping term.  Sorry I need to get this business stuff done so I can play with my stamps.  Every day I'm getting emails that I've disappeared.  I'm here...the only thing that changed is my FEED.  As I type that word I'm still not sure what it means....except that if you sign up for my FEED, you get an email every time I post to my blog.

I'm super excited about today's project!  When I received it from one of my uplines I couldn't wait to figure out how to make it.  After taking it apart I knew that you all would want to know how to make one too....so, I made a video.

Thank you cards

Good afternoon,

Today I stamped some much needed thank you cards!!!  I used the Forest Friends stamp set that's featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  And, the greeting came from a stamp that is FREE  when you order $40 or more from the Occasions Mini Catalog. 

 It's the "Note of Thanks" Mini Note Kit on page 208 (the Under $10 page).  Did you notice I altered the stamp?  I decided that I would use "thank you" more often than "just had to write to say thank you".  So, I put the image on my cutting board and cut the top line off with an exacto knife (it's super easy when you use a cutting board instead of scissors). 

Here's a picture of the 2nd card I made...the only difference is I added some Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon.

I've had a few people ask me what my favorite is on the Under $10 page & the "Note of thanks"  Mini Note Kit takes the prize. I like several off them...but that one is more bang for you buck :)  And to top it off..... it also includes the Chocolate Stamping Spot....what a deal!!
