Step Flash for Magnetic Boards

I've received a ton of emails and I decided to post the details here.  I used the Step Flash to make the Magnetic Boards.

I purchased the Step Flash at Lowe's in the roofing department.  Here's a picture.  It's galvanized and it comes in the 5 x7 size.  I bought it myself and I can walk you right to it.

My advice is to go to the store yourself.  If you call them more than likely you will encounter someone that doesn't know. I went to Lowes and Home Depot twice…..I was looking in the AC dept but they're in the roofing department and I only found them at Lowes.

    Boo! My Lowes/HomeDepot only have the 5×7 aluminum flashing. 🙁 They have the galvanized on the roll but I don’t feel like cutting it and having to sand it and all. You should sell the sheets to us in 10 packs. 😉

    I think the ones on the Ace site are aluminum too.

    Well you’re going to have to walk me straight it then. When I look on the website, the only pack of 10 I see is item #5191812 and when I click on details it states “keyword: FLASHING ALUM 5X7″ BG10” meaning they are aluminum.

    FYI – incidental mention of names is okay according to the latest IDA interpretations and this post qualifies in that respect. As long as you don’t give the address or link to the website you’re golden.

    Stores in some states don’t carry these is what I’ve found as they aren’t up to code for roofing there. At least that was the case in Florida a couple of years ago when I had made magnetic memo boards with some of these that my upline in AZ sent me. Hurricanes here make them not to code. When I checked around they would have to be special ordered in large quantity — so that may be the issue. I’ll check again and see if something has changed but wanted to post in case you can’t find them even with Angie’s very helpful tips on where they are at Lowe’s.
