I know a lot of you have been praying for Chase and I just wanted to share the news with you. His MRI today shows he has a bone tumor. They're pretty sure that it's not cancer but he does need surgery. It's a rare tumor ….one not usually found in the ankle but from all the tests they're pretty certain that's what it is (MRI, Xray & Cat Scan).
I normally keep my blog business ….so I'm sorry if you're offended by this but I need to get it off my chest….and just maybe it will help someone else.
Thank God we found a doctor that cared enough to run a simple MRI. That's all it took to show the tumor …and it's amazing that it took three doctors to get a simple test ordered. The reason I'm pouring all this out is ….I knew something was wrong ….the pain was too great for it to be nothing ……But yet two previous doctors did not want to run any tests. The only reason I'm going on and on about this is …. if you know something is wrong …don't give up. In your heart …. you know it. Just as when Chase was little …I knew something was going on very early…but it took lots of years & tears.
I really appreciate all your prayers and support and I'm totally at peace. I'm not worried about the surgery I know that God has a plan …..& I trust Dr. Horton. If you ever need a foot/ankle surgeon in KS….he's the one you want!!
I'll see you tomorrow with another Envelope Treat Holder ….. I have the video ready I just need to type the instructions.
Thanks & have a good night

It is such a good thing that you persisted until you got the help you needed, and now can move forward with confidence. You really do have to trust that inner voice that tells you all is not “ok” and I think its great you share that here where it may give others the strength to persevere. Even before I was a nurse, I was a pain to medical staff that wouldn’ t listen. I was always right when I knew something wasn’ t right. I pray all goes well with the surgery, keep us posted.
Will keep Chase in my prayers. Thank goodness for your perseverance!

I will be praying for your son and your family. God is our Almighty healer!!
I have been following you since Oct-Nov, first time really posting anything very personal. My prayers go out to you and your family. Your family comes first before this blog and any of the followers-do want you think is best and what you need to get yourself through this time-if that means that we are sounding boards more power to you. If anyone is unable to understand and is upset because of this, they do not understand the meaning of compassion, love and grace. You do so much for me and the other followers and we don’t say thank you enough
Best wishes and happy prayers for Chase’s surgery! Wishing him a speedy recovery!

Angie, I’m glad you were persistent in your child’s care. I work in healthcare, so I know what you’re talking about. We are our biggest advocate when it comes to our health and of our love ones. Hope all goes well and recovery speedy.

Hi Angie
Good for you for fighting for you children. A mother knows!!!! My prayers are with you all.
Irene
so sorry to hear of your son’s condition. But with lots of prayer and faith God can guide those drs with the knowledge and ability to know what to do for him. I am always amazed when people get offended at others for posting such as you have. To me it’s just another way for all of us to lift up in prayer your loved one to God and pray that he will be well!! Keep up the good work!! Hope all goes well for your family!!
The mostly male doctors need to understand that a woman’s (mother’s) instinct is valid and needs them to pay attention. Don’t ever feel you shouldn’t tell us your personal side – I have noticed that Stampers are a sisterhood of care and concern and we are all here to lend you support. Blessings upon you all.
Angie, I pray for Chase and and I know better days are ahead for all!
Jackie
I’m glad you trusted and followed your instincts. Chase is very handsome and has a winning smile:) I will keep him in my thoughts. Take care:)
Bless your heart Angie!! Don’t ever worry about posting personal “stuff” on your blog. It’s YOUR BLOG, and those who love you and follow you would never mind. We’re praying for Chase and your whole family. You are a wonderful mother and he’s lucky to have you. Please keep us updated and let him know he is loved from Utah!
Sending big hugs,
Angie in Utah

Angie,
OMG! I’m a faithful reader of your blog and you know what? My three old son just had surgery on his bone tumor in his leg this past Monday! His is not malignant either. It was diagnosed as LCH (langerhans cells histiocyosis). He’s in a full leg cast for three weeks. Keeping your son in prayer. Moms intuition is ALWAYS right!
Kristy

Diagnosing the problem is half the battle! Best wishes for the other half: surgery and recovery. Will keep you, Chase and your family in my thoughts and prayers!
Wishing Chase the best. I saw your video on the bag envelope. You always have great ideas.
Angie – I just wanted to say that you and your family, especially Chase, are not alone. This happened to me about 7 years ago. It started right before my wedding so I couldn’t even wesar the shoes I had bought to go with my dress. I went to 3 different doctors and none of them would order an MRI. Physical therapy, water therapy, steroids, anti-inflammatories…nothing worked and I was miserable. I could do basically nothing but sit. It was all I could do to walk to and from my car in to work and home again, the pain was so great. Finally, my insurance changed and I had to switch doctors. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. One visit and an MRI later, I was off to surgery. Everything is fine now and I have my life back. I hope everything goes as well for Chase! My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Good luck!
