Card in a Box

How to make a Card in a Box

cardinabox_b

This is the project we made during my live stream on Saturday .... a Card in a Box.

I've had several requests to demonstrate how to make these and to be honest I was a little intimidated because of all the steps .... But ... it's not as hard as I thought!  In fact it's not hard at all ... it's just a little time consuming ...but very worth the effort!

Here's a picture of how it really does fold flat to mail in an envelope.

After my One Sheet Wonder Class I'm still hooked on the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper so it was an easy choice to start with it.

We used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set along with Another Great Year stamp set.  And .... the balloons were made with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits (yes, they are available).  Item #127816

You will use Window Sheets to hold the balloons (3 x 1/4) or we decided you could also use toothpicks, coffee stir sticks, or you can cut up a old stamp case (but be careful ... sharp edges) or you could use transparency sheets ... just make sure they are really thick .. otherwise they'll flop over.

Instead of listing all the measurements on my blog I've added them to the Project Supply Sheet (it's posted right under the video).  Did you know I've been including those with every project that has a video since January?   Here's an example ....

Love this . Angie you designed it Amazing. Thank you

  13. Linda Mohler

I just made one of these, and they are adorable. I think there is one misprint though. The 3 pieces of DSP that are 2 x 3-5/8 should be 2 x 2-5/8, at least by my calculation. Thanks for this wonderful project!

  14. Denise Heredia

I love the card box! I will be making these for sure!! I like the one with five balloons!

  15. Arleta Bagchi

THE CARD IN A BOX IS VERY ,VERY COOL.

  32. i really love your stuff, and hope that one day I’ll be as good as you :)

  33. Janine

I love this box card!! It took me a few times making it because, like you said, the placement of the inside pieces were the hardest things to master with this box. I tried making the inside pieces in a different way and it turned out easier to attach these two inside pieces. I cut my two interior panels at 3 1/8 x 2 3/4—actually just a tad under 2 3/4. I cut two of these pieces for the inside (instead of one piece at 3 1/8 and cutting it in half). It worked out better to get the placement right as the 2 3/4 length makes it to the bottom of the box and you are able to keep the box standing upright on the table as you attach the two inside pieces. I don’t know if this makes any sense (?)….lol but it worked out easier.

  34. Janet

Awesome card ….I think it would make a great Mother’s Day card with flowers. Can’t wait to try it.

  35. Mariyn

Thank you for posting directions, you don’t know how hard I had to look for these! Love it
